We all know that today the whole human civilization is facing tremendous environmental challenges. Global warming is slowly but surely changing world climate. Eventually this may prove disastrous for us. On the other hand, pollution of all sorts has already reached alarming levels. Rapid loss of bio-diversity is also depriving us of invaluable natural resources. Scientists say that we, the humans ourselves, are responsible for all these degradations to a large extent and time is running out for us.
Scientists also argue that we should mend our ways of living now, immediately, to protect the earth’s environment and to adapt to the emerging situation. But for mending our ways, what we need first is a real scientific awareness about nature, about our environment, about our fellow human beings and about our own lives.
Keeping this perspective in mind, we have created this website সবুজমন to serve the society. ‘Sabuj (সবুজ)’ is an Indian word. It means green. As the name indicates, our website সবুজমন is a vehicle of environmental awareness. We run সবুজমন with some core values. We always remain alert not to become any crude propaganda or promotional work. We have definitely our own ethics, our own liking and disliking, our own emotions. But whenever we publish some article on সবুজমন, we ensure that the content is well-researched, fact-based and impartial.
In সবুজমন we have our own vision, our own dream. We believe that science will make the civilization wiser. And the earth will become green again. We also believe that it is really possible to enjoy the fruits of science and technology without destroying the tree of life. For us, work is not just formality maintaining.
